At the 2025 United Nations Ocean Conference—a globally significant forum focused on marine conservation—the Hikari Project was invited to present its work.
Our presentation highlighted our earthquake recovery initiative in the Noto Peninsula from the perspective of protecting the ocean. In Noto, the traditional concept of “Satoumi”—a harmonious coastal zone between human life and nature—continues to be preserved, with terraced rice fields stretching along the coastline symbolizing the deep connection between water, land, and community.
Our efforts to protect the health of the sea closely align with the mission of this conference. The initiative was met with strong support from participants, who recognized the value of linking environmental awareness with disaster recovery. This moment marked a meaningful step toward future international collaboration.
